The story takes place in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where Deenie lives. Deenie's house is small and full of life.
There are enough rooms for all the family members in the house.
The main character is usually in her room, where she can be by herself without interruptions.
The 3 places that are important in the story are:
* Deenie's house- the place that Deenie spends most of her time.
* Deenie's school - where she studies and meets her friends almost everyday of the week.
* The doctor's clinic - after she finds out that there's a problem with her back, she goes to see many doctors and spends a lot of her time in their clinics.

Main character
The main character in my book is Deenie.
The writer doesn't describe the character in the book but this is how I picture Deenie in my mind. Deenie is a really pretty girl.
Deenie is not a very smart girl, but she is satisfied with the fact that she is pretty. She is a shy girl that has a mother who makes her life very difficult.
Her mother really wants her to be a model but then they find out that Deenie's spine has a problem that cancels the mother's plans for her to be a model because Deenie has to wear a brace on her body.
